An aggressive bandeja hit with maximum racquet acceleration and pace, designed to finish points decisively.
Definition
A power bandeja is an attacking variant of the traditional bandeja (lob-volley) where the player emphasizes pace and aggressive racquet acceleration to create a high, fast-traveling lob that's difficult for opponents to smash or defend. Unlike the standard bandeja which prioritizes placement and touch, the power bandeja trades some control for pace, making it a finishing shot when the player has a short ball and dominant court position. Power bandejas are tactical tools for aggressive players who want to end rallies quickly rather than extend them. The shot requires excellent timing and wrist strength to maintain control while generating pace. In professional padel, power bandejas are used by attacking-minded players to showcase aggression and finish dominance.
Origin: Modern bandeja variation; emerged in professional Spanish padel during the 2010s.
Used to finish short-ball situations at net when the player has a dominant court position.
Power bandejas emphasize pace and aggression; regular bandejas prioritize touch and placement. Power = finishing; regular = tactical control.
When the ball is slightly higher or when you want to maintain attacking pressure with a lob. Flat smashes are more direct finishers.
