A structured routine performed before a match to prepare the body and mind for competitive play
Definition
A structured routine performed before a match to prepare the body and mind for competitive play. An effective padel warm-up raises core temperature, activates the relevant muscle groups, rehearses key shots, and settles competitive nerves.
15–20 minutes is ideal: 5 min light movement, 5 min dynamic stretching, 5 min hitting from the back (groundstrokes + wall shots), 3 min net approach + volleys + smash.
Shadow footwork for 2 minutes, 20 arm circles each direction, and 10 split-step jumps — then start the match conservatively and use the first game as your warm-up.
