The line marking the far end of the padel court, where baseline players typically position themselves.
Definition
The baseline is the boundary line at the far end of the padel court, running parallel to the net. Players who primarily play from the baseline are called baseline players. The baseline is the farthest point from the net, and rallies often originate with baseline exchanges. Controlling the baseline with deep shots and solid placement forces opponents into defensive positions. Advanced baseline play involves hitting winners from the baseline and using the baseline as a launching point for court advancement. In doubles, baseline players have the critical responsibility of maintaining the point and supporting their net partner.
To construct rallies with solid, deep shots, pass opponents at the net, and support their net partner with court control.
