Wall Exit Shot Recovery — Padel Drills
Execute exit shots off the back wall and glass, recovering difficult positions and transitioning to offensive play. Wall exit shots are crucial skills for padel, allowing players to recover seemingly lost points.
Technique: step by step
Wall Positioning
Identify when your opponent has hit the ball toward the back wall or glass, moving quickly to the wall.
Ball Tracking
Track the ball's trajectory as it bounces off the wall, predicting where it will land after the bounce.
Ready Position at Wall
Position yourself 1-2 feet away from the wall with knees bent and racket up, ready to react.
Exit Swing Execution
Execute a compact swing toward the ball, either hitting it on the rebound or adjusting for a second bounce.
Direction Control
Direct the exit shot forward into the court, targeting mid-court or the opponent's baseline for defensive recovery.
Court Transition
Move quickly from the wall to ready position, prepared to continue the rally or transition to offense.
Coach tip
Stay calm at the wall; most wall rebounds can be recovered with a simple defensive shot.
