Vibora Technique Refinement — Padel Drills

Develop consistency and control with the vibora, a wrist-snap overhead used to finish high balls with spin and control. This intermediate level focuses on timing, placement, and transitioning from defensive to offensive positions.

Technique: step by step

Reading the Ball Height

Identify balls at perfect height for the vibora—chest to eye level, allowing wrist-snap execution without excessive strain.

Positioning for Wrist Snap

Stand sideways with weight balanced, raising your elbow to shoulder height with the forearm relaxed and wrist cocked backward.

Wrist-Snap Mechanics

Execute a rapid wrist rotation from cocked to extended position, snapping downward and forward through the ball.

Spin Control

Adjust the angle of the racket face and wrist speed to create topspin, sidespin, or flat viboras depending on court positioning.

Placement Targeting

Direct viboras to sidelines, angles, or deep court to force opponent errors or set up finishing shots.

Transition Footwork

Move forward into the net immediately after striking, ready to volley or smash the opponent's defensive response.

The vibora's power comes from wrist speed, not arm strength. A crisp wrist snap creates spin that lands deep and difficult to attack.
